I just found out that Kabillion offers Numberblocks, and let me tell you right now, I will not be watching it, nor will I let my mum or dog near it. This isn't just about one show—it's about how all of CBeebies' programming has taken a turn for the worse. Remember when kids' shows were actually fun, educational, and innocent? Now, it seems like every show has an agenda, and Numberblocks is no different.
What really gets under my skin is how they’ve decided to use maths as a sneaky way to push some sort of woke and conservative narrative. Yes, you heard that right—both at the same time! They’re using math to teach kids about "coping" with diverse people. It’s like they’ve found a way to make counting numbers into some kind of lesson on social engineering. I thought I was tuning in for some simple arithmetic, not a lecture on how to conform to this bizarre new world where kids need to be trained to handle diversity like it's some kind of obstacle course.
We’re talking about a show that should be about basic numbers and math concepts—simple, right? But no, they couldn’t just leave it at that. They had to sneak in all this messaging, making diversity and inclusion some sort of unavoidable reality that even preschoolers need to be "prepared" for. It’s as if they think our kids can’t understand how to be decent human beings without being drilled with this nonsense at every turn.
And let’s not forget how this caters to this weird, watered-down conservative mindset that seems to think the only way to maintain order is by training kids to tolerate diversity rather than actually embracing it naturally. I mean, come on! Kids are naturally curious and open-minded—why do we need to turn them into little soldiers for some kind of social agenda under the guise of learning math?
So no, I won’t be watching Numberblocks on Kabillion, and I suggest anyone with half a brain does the same. I miss the days when kids' TV was just about having fun and learning without all this hidden messaging.
What happened to just letting kids be kids?
