Thanks to a friendly person over at WritingForums.net, I decided to add a new set of drabbles into my Orko's Walk umbrella title: one where Dree-Elle enters his life, in a scenario similar to the Bluey episode 'Camping'. Here's how it goes:
In ‘Orko’s Walk’, Orko finds a campsite and settles down in his tent for the night, only to encounter a female Trollan called Dree-Elle when he wakes up the next morning. Dree-Elle lives with her father, who is a rhino, her mother, who is a zebra, and her baby brother, who is a toucan. In a scenario similar to the Bluey episode ‘Camping’, Orko and Dree-Elle spend a lovely few months playing together and trying to ward off a wild pig who is stealing their food. They make a den and plant a seed. Dree-Elle tries to use her magic to make the seed grow, but Orko stops her, stating that his father Kiburi once told him that it takes patience to make a garden grow. During their final night together, Orko and Dree-Elle share a moment together by the waterfall, and, instead of showing their faces to each other, they share a kiss before they depart. In the morning, Orko finds Dree-Elle’s tent gone, but finds a whole carpet of flowers growing where they had planted the seed. Orko takes a tablet from out of his sleeve and video calls Furaha and her parents, who explain to him that special people come into one’s life, and then go away for a while, and that sometimes, they just aren’t anywhere to be found at all. Moved to tears, Orko says a simple ‘thank you’ and then heads off on the rest of his walk, sad and alone. However, midway through, he remembers the carpet of flowers and decides to stay strong for not only his family, but also for Dree-Elle.
