In Orko The Ape, the bond between mother and child plays a vital role in the story. The moment Mother Ape raises Orko, she raises him with love and nurturing, and even the leader of the troop, usually so stern and gruff, approves. When I first thought of Orko The Ape, I thought of the words: 'tiny and vulnerable'. And that was when I came to realise the symbol of relationships between characters in the film: the way mother and baby touch hands. It proves that even though apes are different from Trollans, a Trollan like our Orko can grow up and learn to survive in the jungle, while still remaining a kid at heart, playing with the other young apes and acting like a baby ape himself.
